F.A.Q.Q: I have never taken voice lessons before. Will you accept me into your studio?
We never turn away a student based on their level of experience. We love teaching students of all abilities and ages! Q: What do you charge for lessons? We offer a 30 minute trial lesson for a discounted price of $25 for everyone! Following the trial lesson, pricing is as follows: 30 minutes (for children 12 and under) - $50 45 minutes - $70 1 hour - $90 Q: Will you come to my house to teach lessons? We do not travel to teach, but you can take a lesson online! Q: How long are voice lessons? We offer either a 30 minute lesson for children 12 and under, a 45 minute lesson or a 1 hour lesson, depending on the needs of the student. Q: How frequently should I take lessons? For the fastest progress, we highly suggest taking a weekly lesson. If your schedule requires more flexibility, we are happy to offer lessons as needed. Q: How young is too young for voice lessons? While students can start to learn how to sing at any age, we recommend that a singer begin vocal training after puberty, when the voice has settled. Late middle school through high school is a great age to begin learning how to sing. Q: What if I want my young child to take voice lessons? We are happy to accommodate younger students! We will focus younger students' lessons on the basic fundamentals of music and singing. We can also incorporate beginning piano into their lessons. Q: What is your teaching style? Our voice lessons are carefully planned for each student, as every student has different needs and personal goals. We begin with voice building vocalises (warm-ups) and move into repertoire, teaching the principles of breathing and resonance to create easy, efficient singing. We focus heavily on what singing and learning to sing feels like: the sensations of singing. We will ask you to determine if the sounds you are making are easy for you to produce or challenging to make. We will work together to define certain sounds and sensations. Q: What styles of music do you teach? We teach mostly Musical Theater, Pop and Classical as we get the most requests for those styles. We have experience teaching Jazz, Religious music, Singer-Songwriter, Rock, and Gospel. Q: Do you teach beginner piano lessons to children and adults? Yes! Please specify when you enroll that you would like a piano lesson. Q: Where are you located? We teach on Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, etc.! |
